The books and magazines that I need for my classroom will make a huge difference to the language acquisition of my students. Students, in general, like to read when they have a choice of what to read. It has been proven that the best way to learn another language is to READ it, HEAR it, practice SPEAKING it and WRITE it through repetition. In the past, I have read to my students, but I feel that is not enough. They need to be able to read on their own, through their own choice of interesting topics. It has been proven that students will read more if they are given choices. Students will be held accountable for their reading through a variety of interesting and fun activities.
