My students are vivacious, tenacious, and intelligent. Many will be the first person in their family to attend college. Still, they are not afraid to dream big. They want to become doctors, lawyers, and yes, even teachers. As an educator, I am continually inspired by the resilience my students demonstrate each and every day. Although they are rich in enthusiasm and commitment, my students often don't have access to computers at home. Because of this, they rely on school computers to complete research papers like the senior project, which is a graduation requirement in our school district. Our school has lost teachers and equipment to the California budget cuts. For my seniors, the most pressing loss is that of a functional computer lab. We share a technology specialist with two other schools, which means that many of our computers are in disrepair. Even two more laptops would make a huge difference to our students, who often have to wait for hours for computer access
