Using the easel board, I can demonstrate various lessons for the entire class to see. I can also use the board during small group instruction, as I differentiate the lessons per the specific academic levels of my students. Teaching Biology to 7/8 grade students who are at least two levels behind their academic peers can be challenging. Incorporating various hands-on lessons, my students will be engaged and will be able to process higher-level skills. Specifically, using the DNA Strawberry Extraction lab will help students process what DNA is, and how it is found in all living things. In conjunction with this lab, students will study the various cell processes of all living things.
