Learning through play is very important in a Pre K classroom. One of our units of study is communities. By using the LEGO Community set, my students will be able to build their vocabulary, role play, problem solve, learn about roles and responsibilities and build social skills. One challenge that I face in my classroom is being able to create a play-based environment that involves experimentation. I know that having these LEGO sets will give my students, especially the English language learners, the opportunities to enhance speaking and listening skills. They will also be able to work collaboratively as they explore and persevere.
