We currently read The Stranger by Albert Camus in the Senior level English classes; however, our school does not currently have enough copies of the book to allow each teacher to have a class set. This means that my students have to share books or I have to make copies of the reading for about half of my students. It's quite difficult to foster a love of reading when we don't have the resources we need to ensure each student has the same opportunities. And because the school requires we read the same novel at the same time, I cannot simply have my students read something different. Having these additional copies of the novel will allow more accessibility for my students and allow me the opportunity to really dive into our discussions and activities with the novel.
