Hands-on learning is the deepest form of education. By growing a class garden, children learn the lifecycle of a plant first hand, cooperation and teamwork, as well as learning about data collection and long term observation. It is a full learning experience that not only increases self esteem but gives the students a sense of community and accomplishment. Also, it is important for this generation to become aware first hand that food doesn't come from the supermarket, but from the hard work of farmers and agrarians. Plus, what if someday they need to grow their own food? Thank you for your consideration of our class STEM project.
