Having a carpet in our classroom large enough for our class to gather on will make a huge difference in the building of our classroom community. We will be able to gather in a circle for different team building activities, meeting, and community circles. We also will be using the carpet for flexible seating options for students to be comfortable and motivated in their learning. It will allow them to work closely with small groups, be comfortable while reading a new book, and much more. Students also will be able to move out of their desks during mini-lessons to move closer to me while I am coaching, as well as be more active and engaged in the lesson. They can turn and talk to their partners, view the smartboard more closely and be alongside everyone as a class as we learn. Having a carpet will immensely help my students succeed.
