The use of the social emotional children's books will help my students learn about emotions, self regulation, social skills, and character education. These crucial life skills will help them to become successful learners and are the most important tool I can use to teach these skills. I currently only have a few books to use with my guidance lessons that I teach to the 480 students at my school.
By donating to our project, you will not only be providing more engaging materials, you will ultimately help to increase their social emotional skills and self regulation abilities further helping our students be more successful at school and at life. These children's books would help my students understand and relate better to the objectives I am teaching in my social emotional guidance lessons. My students are also in need of self regulation tools, such as play-doh, stress balls and fidget toys that I can use in a calm down area meant to teach them how to regulate their own emotions. This will help students to positively find ways to solve their problems and train themselves to calm down, a crucial life skill.
