Utilizing flexible seating will allow the opportunity for my students to become more engaged and make choices that help them do so! Students will have the opportunity to sit comfortably while being taught new concepts. Them having the opportunity to be comfortable will help motivate them to stay engaged, thus allowing them the opportunity of flexible seating! I have noticed when students are seated where they desire, they are less disruptive and engage more during the lesson compared to having a seating chart in a desk. I have observed that students making good choices allows them the freedom to sit freely and more comfortably in the classroom! The items I have selected will allow students to feel empowered since they will have the option of flexible seating, making them feel empowered since they have the option that puts them in control since they have choice! Therefore, giving students choices to make them better prepared for the “real world”. The LED lights will allow the overhead lights to be turned off, therefore getting rid of the buzzing sound yet the classroom will still have light. The bar stools and table will allow students to sit at a table or stand at the taller table, thus allowing students to stand and do work if they desire. The ball seats will allow those students that are jittery to be themselves without being a distraction to others. The floor seats, bean bags, and butterfly seats will allow students a more comfortable seat for students while doing book work after receiving direct instruction.
