My students love being leaders of their own learning! They enjoy choosing the best learning spots for themselves and reflecting on what works (and might not work!) for them. They love book clubs and any chance to talk to their friends increases their engagement tenfold. I believe that these stools, coupled with the yoga ball chair, will be a perfect meeting area around my kidney table for my fabulous fourth graders. Right now, they are dragging their heavy chairs to the back table, which is time-consuming and tedious for all. These could cut our transition times in half, as well as help with student engagement in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and all other necessary group work endeavors.
