Students will choose from a list of high-interest titles, including Monument 14, Unwind, and Escape from Camp 14. Based on their selections, they will be placed in groups to create their own reading schedules. They will have an opportunity to read these books each day in class, and they will be given time to discuss. Once the books are completed, they will complete a variety of assessments to further explore the themes, characters, and plot development presented in the books. Reading is a lifelong skill students need for success. When students pick their own books, motivation is increased and achievement soars.
