Breathing balls (Hoberman spheres) help students to understand deep breathing and promote emotional regulation. Used in the calm down spot students are able to conceptualize rhythmic breath with this tactile and visual support and effectively regulate to rejoin learning. Big sensory supports for little learners help set our learners up for success and school-readiness in the way every child deserves! Tactile materials such as sand and waterbeads will promote meaningful engagement in learning all day long. For example, writing letters in the sand helps letter formation, fine motor development, supports sensory needs, and guarantees engagement in the learning process! Visual timers support my littlest learners in regulating themselves during transitions and learning the school-readiness skills they need to succeed in Pre-K and beyond!
