In first grade, we do much social emotional learning. Students are learning about physical boundaries and how to respect classmates' personal space. This carpet will give a visual reminder to each student of their own personal boundaries. This visual will eliminate some classroom management issues that arise when students sit too close to each other. They will have enough space to complete learning activities while sitting or standing or moving about the carpet in search of a pair/share partner. All in all, this carpet will help to increase learning time by decreasing behavior issues during carpet time. More time for learning!

About my class
