My students sit at tables that lack storage for classroom materials and books. For each subject, we need to have students collect, pass out and then return materials to a central storage area. Some of the books are very heavy so they can only carry a few at a time or have had materials fall onto themselves. This lends itself to wasted instruction time and creates a hazard for the students. With each student having their own "chair back buddy" to store books and their personal materials, they will now be able to sit down and get right to learning and no longer have to worry about dropping books or hurting themselves. The lapboard centers will allow students to keep wipe off boards, which they use for all subjects, at their tables for immediate use. Also, the book bins will store literacy books for easier access to students when needed. With all this new storage, student's learning materials will be at their fingertips so transition time will be limited!
