I am a new art teacher at a low income school without a budget to work with as of now. We have miscellaneous and minimal supplies. I just want to stock our shelves with the basic necessities. Drawing is the cheapest art medium. We are currently working with donated copy paper to draw on, which was a huge help. Copy paper is good for 1 day activities, sketches, and enrichment projects. I would like to supply students with 60lb. drawing paper which is a bit thicker and with tooth on the surface. Unlike copy paper, drawing paper will allow students to blend and shade drawing mediums. It will allow us to do more long term projects as the paper is thicker and higher quality. Drawing paper is also more suitable for displaying in our district's art show at the end of the year.
