When meeting at the carpet area in our classroom, my students are enjoying authentic literature which they enjoy. These books are chosen to teach a specific skill needed to be successful in third grade. When reading these books there are many teaching points that need to be made. Having an easel in this area would really help keep our carpet time focused and organized so every student is learning. This easel will also be a great tool for my students to use during partner work and station time. Being able to use chart paper, magnets, and dry erase markers will give my students varying opportunities to learn.
