Dr. Degen's ๐˜Š๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ง๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ ๐˜Œ๐˜น๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜บ ๐˜ˆ๐˜ณ๐˜จ๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต will help students improve their writing skills because it provides meaningful practice using published literature. I will not have to create my own materials, saving me valuable time that I can use to give feedback on student writing. I can envision using part of the practices from the book as a model, assigning the rest as dependent and independent practice, and then allowing students to refer to the models and their practices as mentor text for their own analytical writing. They can easily complete the work from their books at home, take pictures of it, and send it to me via Google Classroom without my having to make any special copies.
