I want to instill a love of reading in my students. They spend time every day reading to self. It is a time they look forward to. Students get to "shop" for books in our classroom library and put them in their own book bag to be read throughout the week. During their independent reading time my students should be able to choose from a plethora of books of a genres to, not only keep skills sharp, but also keep them interested in reading and build knowledge. When students read books they are interested in they have more motivation to keep reading.
