Now more than ever, it is important for me to support my students through this unprecedented time by incorporating mindful daily practices to help them build their coping skills.
I am requesting Mindfulness materials and kits for my students.
These mindfulness kits will be sent home with students to help manage their emotions. The kit will include a "Drawstring Bag" with "Stretchy String Sensory Fidget Toy" to help manage students anxiety, a "Stress Ball" to help students release stress, a "Writing Journal" to write their daily affirmations/journaling/coloring, a "Bubble Wand" to help them practice being in the present moment and with their breathing, and a tub of "Play Doh" to provide students with a therapeutic way to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety.
The Mindfulness materials I am requesting will be a supplemental resource to my weekly Social Emotional Development lessons. "A Little Spot of Emotion" book set will be used to teach students how to manage and recognize the different types of emotions. The " I Am Peace" book will be used to teach students how to become mindful in their daily lives.
Providing my students with valuable mindfulness skills will give them a safe and positive learning space that will teach them how to cope with their feelings.
