This project will purchase 6, Botley(r) The Coding Robot Activity Sets, from KAPLAN EARLY LEARNING COMPANY to teach coding in a classroom setting. In turn this activity will also teach social skills and support positive problem solving strategies in this population. Julia L. Dweck, shared these supports in edutopia, January 29. 2016. What a wonderful experience to teach real time skills in the areas of context subject matter. Jenny Nash published with ISTE on June 1, 2017, in which she shared benefits of coding in the classroom. This activity bridges the gaps with "real-world learning and computational thinking". Taking skills needed for future jobs and teaching elementary students while building strong character traits, is a win-win situation for all involved in the learning community. I want to merge real-world learning along with enhancing problem-solving skills while teaching students how to use coding and building robotics.
