Being a small school, access to technology is difficult most of the time. Much of the supplies and tools that I use in my science class come from my garage or the dollar store. My students need the opportunity to use new and innovative 21st century tools to broaden and deepen their learning experiences. The high cost of lab material would no longer be an obstacle if students had laptops to perform chemistry and physics virtual labs. Simulations will give students the opportunity to analyze precise data and discover relationships and correlations between variables. Students will have the opportunity to develop meaningful questions and investigations after using the laptops to do research. These laptops will push our students to be better scientists. Our science class would be improved greatly by adding classroom laptops. The use of laptops in our class will foster academic success. The use of technology will help students develop their science skills. Having these computers will increase students engagement, attentiveness, participation and learning. Many students will have the opportunity for the first time to use laptops in an interactive lesson where they can get immediate feedback from me and science simulations.
