21st Century students deserve a 21st century classroom that allows multiple learning activities to occur simultaneously. The environment should allow for a variety of learning spaces and grouping formats that consider all learning-styles. I want to create a classroom environment that is conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Flexible seating like wobble chairs will help our classroom environment reach this goal. Research says that some of the immediate benefits of of flexible seating include using excess energy to focus, increased motivation and engagement, and creating a better oxygen flow to the brain. Flexible seating will allow my students to wiggle, wobble and focus!
