The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will bring a rich vocabulary, a wonderful imagination, and a true intrinsic love of reading and therefore knowledge. My students need to escape their very tiny low socioeconomic upbringing to see that there is so much more out in the world. I believe developing a love of written words is the first step in that journey. My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. A listening center is just what we need in my classroom. We just need your help in getting everything we need! The carpet will be placed in the front of the classroom and used as a gathering place during mini-lessons and shared reading, as well providing a place for students to get comfortable as they read independently. I know that these items can change a child's mindset and that will lead to higher academic achievement in the long run.
