I work in a very impoverished part of East Tennessee. The school is located in a rural community with a very small amount of job opportunity. Many of my students do not have much at home and struggle regularly. The school is 94% free or reduced lunch with many of the parents being unemployed. Education has fallen to the wayside with many of the adults in the community. This often puts the students at a great risk of continuing this cycle of poverty. Many do not have the opportunity to use new technologies at home and jump at the chance to use them in the classroom.
