It might look like kids are just playing and having fun, but blocks support: Spacial Reasoning (did you know that current research shows that children (ages 4-7) who have good spacial reasoning are more likely to fine success with math later on?) Social Emotional learning (Did you know that many longitudinal studies have shown that children with high social and emotional IQs in kindergarten are more successful than children who did not have the chance to develop these competentices?) Literacy skills, slowing external stimuli to help with focusing needs, STEM, and developing a growth mindsets. Blocks are used every single day in our classroom, and have a 50 year guarantee so that means this project can reach over 3,000 children in its lifetime! Not only are blocks and engaging and fun, but they are a pivotal way we learn.
