Students who struggle to learn to read and write due to dyslexia need to learn in a way that is different from standard teaching techniques. If a student can't read, their future is bleak, and I want to make sure they have the skills they need to succeed in life. Dyslexia isn't a disability--it's a different ability. Their strengths can be used to help them learn. Manipulatives, explicit instruction, and individual help will allow my students to grow and shine. Dry-erase boards are for engaging multiple senses as they learn without the paper waste, and magnets can be used to strengthen spelling AND audio skills.
