Reading is a daily occurrence in our classroom and "A People's History of American Empire" will be used as a secondary reading resource for our students. It will compliment our classroom textbook while providing a contrasting opinion on a great many things. The graphic novel format is an excellent and exciting learning tool the students always embrace. Many of the students read them at home. Howard Zinn's work asks questions about history from a unique perspective and looks at US history from the perspective of women, minorities, and other oft forgotten groups. The students will appreciate these unique perspectives on history.
