My students need to be able to choose the work environment that best suits their needs. Our classroom has tables in need of stools so that students can work together on projects and assignments. The stools will allow them to sit at different tables around the classroom. The foam floor mats will be used as a rug in the reading corner, and in addition, students can use them to find spots around the room for both independent and group work. When students have choice in their learning environment, their engagement and focus increase. Having the stools and floor mats will allow movement and an alternate seating option rather than sitting in desks all day.
