If my project is fully funded students will have a hands on learning opportunity, as well as, develop structure and consistency. This is my first year teaching third graders and I am so excited. However, I only have supplies for middle schoolers. Teaching a third grade class with a high populations of special needs and esl learners a lot of resources are needed. My goal is to have a lot of hands on learning. Studies show students attain more my being physical with objects oppose to hearing lectures. Help me provide the best resources for the best group of students! The calendar kit, birthday chart, daily attendance chart and pocket charts are going to be used for awareness/organization. The regrouping chart and base ten magnetic manipulatives will be used in small group for student to practice and and learn regrouping skills. The leveled reader books will be used for guided reading small groups. Each level is designed to meet readers at their starting point. The magnetic board/boards will be used to hold any magnetic manipulatives so students could touch and move things to better explain what they know or do not know. Magnetic lettter and sight words will be used as a practice station for building words.
