My students live in Washington DC, and some of them live in homes that are more than 6 miles away from our high need school, and sadly, some of them live in group homes. My students love labs and watching videos that are informative. They ask me for textbooks daily, but we don't have enough books at our school. They ask me to plan more hands on activities, but resources are limited. Last year, our high school had the highest increase in math scores in the district which proves that these students can make it if the adults are there to push them. I want to make sure my students score the highest in the district in all subjects including science. They have tremendous potential and an honest desire to learn.
