Your donations will help to bring further technology and flexible seating options into my classroom. The requested I-PEVO document camera will be used on an almost every day basis. My school has recently implemented a new writing program, Writing Up A Storm, which utilizes various interactive notebooks, flip books, and foldables to teach students about things like vocabulary, sentence structure, writing an essay and more. Through the use of the document camera, students will be able to watch and follow along as I model the process of creating these instructional tools for their own interactive notebooks. The document camera will also be used to foster classroom discussions regarding various texts, activities and student work that can be displayed using the technology. Although the document camera will mostly be used during our writing block, it really can be used for any subject in my classroom. When it comes to flexible seating, I believe that it is important for all students to be comfortable in their learning environment. I have a very active group this year, so moving away from their desks to other areas of the room can help them to stay more focused on assigned tasks. The active learning chairs and folding lap desks will turn previously unused areas into instructional areas for my students. The inclusion of these seating options will help my students find the best spot that works for them; this means a spot where they will be the most comfortable, focused and productive student they can be.
