Because my school has limited copies and limited supplies, we do a LOT of learning on dry erase boards, or pre-made activities that require the use of dry erase markers. It doesn't matter how many markers I ask for from parents, or how very many I purchase myself, we ALWAYS run out. I work with 5 and 6 year olds, some with special needs. They aren't the most responsible about keeping the lids tight, so they tend to dry out quickly. With 20 or more students, it's difficult for me to monitor this. While I teach the skill and remind often, the reality is they dry out, and we run out. When my students are working, I'd say 60% or more of the time, they are using dry erase markers.
