In an inclusive classroom, students need many alternatives to the classic chair and table seating. These flexible seating options (wobble chairs and cushions, fidget bands and floor desks) would allow my students to get a sense for how and where they work best in the classroom. Allowing students to choose their seating will help motivate them to do their best learning. Flexible seating will also ensure equity in the classroom, allowing all students needs to be met. Teachers know that 1st-grade students may need to wiggle or wobble; why not help them acquire the tools to do so in a productive manner. Flexible seating will allow my students reach their full potential in the a productive classroom.
