Our school is a tuition-free college preparatory middle school serving grades five through eight. Our students, almost all Latino and African American, reside in some of the most underserved communities in our area. More than 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Despite the many challenges they face, they have all made a choice and commitment to doing whatever it takes to get to college. This choice comes with longer school days, an extended school year, school on Saturday, and high expectations in every class. Our students work hard! In addition to rigorous academics we believe that in order to be truly successful, our students must be well-rounded. Through music and art classes, foreign language classes, and experiential learning opportunities both in and out of the classroom, our school seeks to open doors for our students so that they can explore their own interests and find their own voices that will guide them on the road to and through college.
