Teaching fourth grade means standardized testing. We have been working hard to learn new math and science concepts as we prepare for the STAAR Assessment . The STAAR Assessment is the standardized state test my students are required to take. I want to set them up for success not only on the STAAR Assessment, but for success as they continue their educational journey in school. STAAR testing can be a stressful time for students. I was inspired to request resources that will help my students prepare for the STAAR assessment. The Samsung Tablets will connect my students to science and math apps that will assist them with passing the STAAR Assessment. The Hands-On Multiplication & Division Kit will be used to give my students a hands on approach to understanding multiplication and division concepts. This will be a great resource to extend my lesson beyond paper and pencil. The Visualize Math Write & Wipe Boards will allow my students to analyze math problem in a whole group with out using paper and pencil. Also, they can collaborate and create their own problems on these boards in small group. The Build & Learn Geometric Shapes Kit will allow my students to have fun while learning geometry concepts. Complicated geometric vocabulary and concepts can be mastered as students build shapes. The Multiplication Tower of Math Game will be used during workstation time. This game will help my students memorize their multiplication facts. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs states that students' physiological needs have to met in school. Food is one of those needs I want to meet with this project. Hungry Students can't learn, and they will not focus on their assessment. I am requesting snacks for my students so they will have that need met during the STAAR assessment. Thank you.
