In third and fourth grade multiplication and division play a large role. Base Ten Blocks allow the students to manipulate the numbers and visually see how multiplication and division occurs. These manipulative will be used throughout the year to help them understand these new concepts. Rulers and protractors are necessary since I will be teaching measurement and angles throughout the year in math. For ELA I chose curriculum suggested multicultural and historical books. These books will allow my students to relate more to the characters. Resulting in a more engaging English lesson. Lastly, the lap boards will be used across all disciplines for in class work. They will be a way for me to quickly assess students throughout whole class lessons.
