Do you remember bustling to the rug as a student to hear your favorite read aloud from your teacher? How about your favorite calendar song that you chanted as a class at the front of your room? For an inclusive more student centered environment, I love working with my students on the floor at the front of the room as much as possible. We do community building morning meetings together in a circle. We have our exercises to get our wiggles as well. I also like to work with them to do fun interactive activities on the floor. Our class is hoping to get a new classroom rug that can be used to make this happen, so that students feel comfortable in their learning!
