I would like for my students to have a light box center. In this center they will be able to manipulate transparent letters into words, and put them into alphabet order. They can also use the light box to practice their handwriting skills. In Pre-K we begin teaching our students how to hold a pencil, put it to paper, and slowly teach them how to transform scribbles into letters, and letters into words. This Light box will provide my students with a fun and unique way to trace letters and words and fine tune those handwriting skills! This center will 'light up' learning in our classroom. The learning doesn't stop at letters. The students will be able to tune into their creative talents by using shapes to create pictures with attribute blocks and other manipulatives. During math centers they can use numbers to build graphs and practice basic skills like putting numbers in order. This center will engage my students in their learning as they build foundational skills.
