These powerful compound microscopes will allow my 5th and 6th grade students to see cells up close and in detail. By comparing cells from many different organisms, students will be able to understand how our cells are structured and the ways in which all vertebrates are similar. Throughout the year we will also look at plant cells, invertebrates, and rock and mineral structures. By donating to this project, you will help open my students' eyes to a previously invisible world. Many concepts in science are difficult to understand because they cannot be seen by the naked eye. With these microscopes, students will be able to not only observe the microscopic world, they will be able to design and conduct their own experiments.
