The use of these materials will provide a hands-on way for my students to learn the letter and number names. They will help my students identify letters and numbers and will help my students begin or continue to work on letter and number formation. We will begin by showing them how they can use these materials in each center with the hopes that the students will be able to learn independence as we progress through the school year. My goal is to have various options so that the students continue to stay engaged and motivated to learn. I chose different modes of hands-on learning through manipulation using playdough (a classroom favorite) as well as using sandpaper for my students' sensory needs. My students love to learn and are motivated by new and exciting things! I feel that the materials I have chosen can provide them with various ways of learning. I can incorporate the use of my older materials to continue to engage throughout the year. We also love singing and dancing in my classroom. We primarily do this during whole group time. I hope to find ways to include sings and movement into the use of these new materials in a small group setting. My students learn more through visuals, repetition, and song. these materials will help incorporate all three!
