Every elementary classroom should have a place where they can come together to be as one. The carpet is where that happens. The carpet will give my class one central location they can all fit comfortably on during our whole group lessons. The carpet should be a place where students and myself, feel comfortable to sit or lay while working. Playing a math game on the floor is way better than sitting at the table! I also have no desire to distance myself from my students, and I as well would like to have a nice carpet to sit on while working with small groups or individual.
