The student success center has been a wonderful place for students with sensory and/or behavioral needs who need a quiet space to decompress or sensory process. Students are given an opportunity to come to my classroom to take a break from the overwhelming demands of the classroom. They are able to participate in physical activities, play with sensory tools, work on assignments, or just sit quietly and unwind. These materials will help students to utilize sensory breaks in order to be more focused and successful when they return to the classroom. With these new materials, my students will be able to choose from a variety of items that will allow them to refocus and recharge before reentering the classroom.
