These materials will allow my students to enter my classroom and feel as if they are provided choices in how they wish to learn. Many want to sit on the floor with a comfortable rug underneath them. They may prefer sensory input while being hugged by a beanbag chair. The use of stackable colorful chairs allows other students who wish for a more traditional feel to sit on. I've requested the use of textural and geometric rugs in my room to allow my students to sit on the floor and feel comfortable in their learning space. My classroom also provides a break spot for any and all students who need to remove themselves from the instruction and take a needed break. My students require a comfortable and safe spot to have this type of break and a fuzzy rug and comfy beanbag chair will allow that to happen.
