Flexible seating is a great way to support a student-centered classroom. Students are given the power to take charge of their learning by choosing where they would like to learn in order to do their best. By incorporating flexible seating into our classroom, I want my students to increase their communication skills as well as better develop their decision making skills. Being that my students come from low-income families, I know they will benefit (and greatly enjoy) this type of classroom set up. My students have never had access to such wonderful resources, and I know that having a lap desk or a stability ball will give each student the option of choosing to work independently or with a group.

About my class
