My students will each have a book bin to put their chosen books in for when they read to self and also for when they read with a partner. This is part of our Daily 5 Language Arts program. These will be easy for them to carry their books. The use of dry erase boards in my classroom is a daily activity for word work and writing. My students love to take control of their learning by writing words we are working on and sentences that use those words. They will be able to work with a peer to write simple sentences that will eventually lead to short stories.
