Students need to be allowed to make choices in their seating and in their activities. Using different battery-operated items, adapted with a battery interrupter, such as a fan, a cd player, or an adapted toy, will allow them to make choices and actively participate in activities which would otherwise be denied them. The requested items will allow me to create more choices for them. Students with limited range of motion and who use wheelchairs full time, need to be allowed to sit in different places in the classroom out of their wheelchairs. The wedge pillows and foot rests will allow more supported seating options for them. Students cannot easily move to look at pictures, so pictures have to be placed in their line of sight. The adjustable book stands will allow each student to see the pictures, and lesson materials. Book stands can also be moved to be used wherever the student is sitting, allowing the student to continue learning while being out of their chair.
