Did you know that a majority of adults have only read four books in the past year? Twenty-five percent of adults have not read a single book in the past year. Many students do not have reading role models. Additionally, students have trouble selecting books because they feel a book is not worth the time and effort to read. The books I have selected for my project are award winning, and students are sure to love having choice in their reading. Having a variety of award winning books to choose from in class, will entice students to begin reading books. Once smitten by a great book, students will want to continue their journey to becoming life readers.
