Books change lives and good books create lifelong readers. Having a wide array of reading materials in the classroom gives students the opportunity to pursue their own interests. It allows for the investigation of what inspires them, what will move them forward, and what ultimately will change their lives. Titles such as "The Outsiders," "All American Boys," and "Crossover," speak to reluctant adolescent males in search of their identity, and nonfiction titles such as "The Diary of Anne Frank," feature a historical and accurate depiction of a young girl's journey through despair. Books fuel the reader and independent readers change the world.
