A makerspace is a place where students can imagine, investigate, create and problem solve using a variety of materials. It allows students the opportunity to be creative as they deeply engage in STEM activities. Students will go through phases of an instructional model known as the 5E’s. They are...Engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate. Using this model, students will collaborate and improve their critical thinking skills. Students will use a variety of materials such as boxes, art supplies, legos, magnets, and much more. For example, students may use straws and a box top to build a maze for a marble to go through. The Classic Birch All -Purpose Storage Tray Center and 24 storage trays will help my students keep all of the different Makerspace materials organized so they can complete STEM activities independently. It will also help my first graders learn responsibility by keeping it neat and organized. The Makerspace provides students with endless ideas that are meaningful and engaging hands on STEM activities. The Storage Tray Center and Trays will help my students be successful.
