Libraries are almost always reserved for English Language Arts & History classrooms. However, if we are to prepare our young minds for the world that lays ahead, we must encourage their interest in the sciences. Books, such as Homo Deus, will engage scholars in high level scientific texts that they rarely get to experience in ELA or History classrooms. With these non-fiction, science based books my scholars will be able to learn about any scientific discovery or scientist they are interested in! If we engage students now in the process of science, than our future will be bright. In my classroom, scholars will be able to check-out any of these books to help them with research, or just as an independent reading book. Having new books in the library is critical, as I had multiple scholars last year who read many of the books, and one scholar who read all of the books I already have in my classroom library.
